Tim Buckley
Director & Operations Manager
Tim Buckley is a Physiotherapist from Melbourne, Australia. He has worked exclusively with elite ballet dancers, circus artists and orchestral musicians during his 19 year career and has spoken twice at IADMS conferences in Australia and the USA. He was one of two full time physios with The Australian Ballet from 2006-2008 and toured Australia, China, England and France. He joined Cirque du Soleil in 2009 and toured Japan, South America and North America with ‘Corteo’ and ‘Quidam’, before settling in Montréal to work at Cirque’s international headquarters as the Supervisor of Performance Medicine. Tim then toured again as the Head Physiotherapist on Cirque du Soleil’s production, ‘Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities’ in 2014-15, before moving back to Melbourne in 2016. After another year at The Australian Ballet and completing a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy, Tim re-joined Cirque du Soleil where he worked as a ‘fly-in’ Head Physiotherapist on several touring shows including Amaluna, Volta, Crystal and Twas The Night Before, as well as in Montreal on various creation projects. From 2023-24, Tim has been the Clinical Team Lead of Performance Medicine for Cirque du Soleil, leading a team of 10 physiotherapists and athletic therapists on complex rehabilitation cases at the Montreal headquarters. Tim is a consultant Physiotherapist for Acrobatic Arts Inc, providing input on the continuing development of their syllabus and programs. Tim also co-owns The Academy, a circus training center in London Ontario, with his wife Meaghan Wegg.
Meaghan Wegg
Artistic Director & Programs Manager
Meaghan is a versatile circus artist and coach with a passion for choreography. She honed her skills in aerial hoop and contortion performance at the select-entry Ecole Nationale de Cirque (ENC) in Montreal, graduating both from their high school program and subsequently their college diploma in 2005. Meaghan then embarked on a successful career as a principal dancer and circus artist, performing worldwide in various productions including Cirque du Soleil's 'Quidam' as an aerial hoop artist and acrobatic dancer. Transitioning to coaching and choreography, she returned to ENC and obtained a coaching diploma in 2013, specializing in acrobatic research and hand to hand transitions. Meaghan now works as a private coach and choreographer, attracting students globally. She also created and now manages “Aerial Arts” globally, a division of Acrobatic Arts focused on safe teaching of Aerial Hoop and Silks. She founded “The Academy”, a leading circus training facility in South-Western Ontario, with locations in London and Clinton. With a wealth of experience, Meaghan has choreographed shows and worked on projects internationally, including Elekron in Macau, and the Ambani wedding in India. Meaghan created the Weggsphere, a visually appealing ground-based apparatus inspired by the aerial hoop. This meticulously crafted design combines functionality and aesthetics seamlessly. Based in London, Ontario Canada, she now enjoys a settled life with her small family and is dedicated to welcoming aspiring performers into the industry, sharing invaluable tips and tools to help make their dreams a reality.
